Basrah College of Medicine had been established in 1967(1387 A.H). Undergraduate studies started in the academic year 1967-1968 by accepting 65 students .
Since that time ,the college has been going on in successfully steps in its scientific, educational and national duties. The collage has also a cooperative action in the development and progress of medical practice , medical teaching and Scientific research.
There are 11 scientific departments ;all contributing to achievement of the college goals.. These departments are supported by a network of laboratories and units.
