  ESTABLISHMENT DATA :

   

  The center establish in 2005 when STONY BROOK university offered contract realizing that there was high air pollution around the  country and it effect directly and dangerously on the general health .

   

           STONY BROOK  was the donor it produced lab. Tools to disclose the pollution with support of Iraqi staff who exposed to the pollution .

  They select college of medicine because all the tools connected with people health and the college complete the medical side of environmental search .

   

  The center has many section:

   

  Baghdad university /college of medicine .

  Mosul university / college of medicine .

  Sulaimania university /college of medicine .

  Babel university / college of medicine .

  Arbil university /college of medicine .

   

  The head of all these section is medicine college dean . there for the head of center in basrah is ; Dr .Thamer Ahmad Hamadan  .

   

  The center financial affairs coordinator Dr. Nerjs A. Hassan (before the contract ended ) .

  The contract with STONY BROOK  university ended in 1/12/2006 . Suspended between STONY BROOK and IRAQI universities .

  The center became an ordinary lab. At college of medicine which study the environmental side of the city .

  LAB. TARGETS  

   

  Measuring air pollution ratio in the south area ,because there are signs of high air pollution which is very dangerous from many sources .

  *Cars exhaust .

  *Generators .

  *Burning garbage at residence places .

  There are many dangerous material which we breath entering our body ,and our body cant get rid of .At the same time we cant stop breathing .

  We realize that lung is very qualificated system and all of the other parts of the body depend on the system ,So it is very difficult to get rid pollution by breathing .

  

LAB. ACTIVITISE FROM ITS ESTABLISHMENT TO THIS MOMENT .

 

1. Helding scientific session about environment health 10-13 /7/2005 in BASRAH university college of medicine .

       Its aims :To rise the scientific level of environmental health employees in the              south area.

2. Acomplishing research about (lead ratio in blood ) in3/8/2005 .which studies lead ratio in blood at the center of the city and other region .

3. Research about  (alflour factory and employees safty conditions ).

4. Acomplishing research on (Black carbon in BASRAH air and effect on human health ).

5. Take part in the second environment conference helding by BASRAH COUNCIL in 28/6/2008 .
